Lone Star Murder Mystery and Show

Show Description:

 Attorney Dewey Cheatumgood, a dubious dealer of bogus railroad bonds, has been killed and there’s no shortage of stockholders to suspect. On any given day that’d be enough to keep Marshal Jim Courtright busy, but word is a notorious bounty hunter named Dude is coming to town and now everyone’s on edge.

 Did Captain Calvin, the shell-shocked sole survivor of Custer’s Last Stand cause another casualty? Could the fast-talking salesman Edward Ponzee have closed a final deal with the deceased? Might Maggie Magpie, the former magician’s assistant, mysteriously make another man disappear? Or did Dude lay the lawyer low for another bounty? Watch as the Marshal tries to keep the peace and solve this crime, but hold on tight ‘cause this wild bunch is bound to run right off the rails.

 Character Descriptions

 Marshal Jim Courtright – As the highest-ranking law enforcement official in this one horse town, Marshal Courtright can usually be found “keeping the peace” at the local Saloon. News of the arrival of a notorious bounty hunter has the locals caterwauling like a Texas twister and Jim drinking more than usual. He must figure out who “The Dude” is looking for before he’s out of shots.

Captain Cavalry Cal – It takes courage, precise military tactics, stamina, and an ability to “go native” to be the lone survivor of Custer’s Last Stand. Is Cavalry Cal a courageous commandant or a cowardly cadet? Did the dirty lawyer breach Cal’s top-secret mission?  Does this shell-shocked war hero have what it takes to do Dewey in? You’ll need to fall in and march along as Cal’s comrade to know for sure.

Edward Ponzee – If you don’t need it or want it, Ponzee can sell it to you. A self proclaimed illustrious salesman, Ponzee can sell nighttime to the moon. But wait, there’s more!  If you order today he’ll even throw in a useless clue for only $19.95. But hurry, this sale won’t last long!  With all his wheelin’ and dealin’ perhaps Ponzee sold Dewey on a deadly deal.

Maggie Magpie – An accident prone magician’s assistant with a 19th century “Price is Right” style. Maggie was forced to exit the stage permanently when her employers kept meeting mysterious fates. Was it malicious mayhem in Maggie’s heart or simply misfortune that brought these magicians to their untimely demise?  It could be she “accidentally assisted” Dewey with his final curtain.

Dude – The single most notorious bounty hunter in the west, Dude always brings criminals to justice. The problem is Dude’s “justice” is lighting fast and comes out of the end of a six gun.  Dude is aiming to derail this town to find fugitives and depart with a bountiful reward. Was Dewey in the line of fire or instructing the aim? The difference could be a deadly slap in the face!
